CHAPTER MEMBER OF THE YEAR

CHAPTER OUTSTANDING CADET OF THE YEAR

1.      You must be a member of the International Federation of Trekkers assigned to the Chapter known as the USS Agamemnon.

2.      You cannot have any demerits for that year.  Anyone with demerits is not eligible for the awards, but is in the running for the top five percent in their categories (Chapter Member of the Year or Chapter Outstanding Cadet of the Year.)

3.      All of your advancement points for Chapter meetings, projects, conventions, away missions, etc... for the year are totaled (the whole year).  School grade points count.  All demerits are subtracted from that number.

4.      Anyone without demerits will get a 100-point bonus added to their total.

5.      You do not get bonus points for perfect attendance at Chapter Meetings for the year.  You get points at the meetings for attendance.

6.      Points for bowling parties or any other extra activates are not counted.  Example:  Bowling party scores.  Even thought we record points for your bowling scores each game, these points will not count towards Chapter Member of the year or Chapter Outstanding Cadet of the Year, nor for the Top Five in either category.

7.      Your overall attitude, conduct, participation, the example you set for other members and your attention at meetings are all reviewed for these awards.

8.      The Command Staff will go over each member's record to see if they are eligible for the award.  If they have no justifiable reason for the member not receiving the award (Chapter Member of the Year and Chapter Outstanding Cadet Member of the Year), it will be awarded to that member.

9.      Anyone with demerits, with more points than members without demerits, will finish behind the members without demerits in the Top Five List for Chapter Member of the Year and Chapter Outstanding Cadet Member of the Year.

10.    Anyone with 45 demerits is ineligible for the Top Five in both categories (Chapter Member of the Year and Chapter Outstanding Cadet Member of the Year).

11.    If there are members with demerits in the Top Five and some have more demerits than the others with demerits, those with fewer demerits will finish ahead of those with more demerits regardless of the amount of points earned.

12.    If there is a tie for any position in the Top Five (including the top awards), it will not change the number of Top Five winners.  i.e., a tie for Chapter Member of the year, the other winners will be third, fourth, and fifth.  A tie for second will result in no third place finisher, as one of the second place finishers would have been third.  Fourth and fifth will be awarded, and so on.  If ties result in more than five members in the Top Five, all those members will be included.  i.e., a three-way tie for fourth place results in six finishers in the Top Five.  All six members will be included in the Top Five, and so on.

13.    If a member lets their member ship lapse, and they finish in the Top 5 in their category, they will not be considered for the award.  The awards are for IFT Chapter members only, so they are ineligible for the awards

14.    Anyone that transfers to another Chapter is no longer eligible for awards for this Chapter.

15.    If you start the year as a cadet, but turn 16 years old before the end of the year, you are no longer eligible for Chapter Outstanding Cadet of the Year.  You will be running for Chapter Member of the Year instead.

16.    The points are counted from July 1st to June 30th of the same year.
