Merit Awards Acting Coordinator:
Allen Johnson This office will serve as the official supplier for the Fleet Merit Award Ribbons Program.
It will be the responsibility of this office to design and manufacture ribbons for the use of the IFT Awards Program by obtaining ribbons and attachments for the ribbons from wholesale and retail manufactures and merchants.
From time to time, this office may be called upon to help design new awards and ribbons, or to update preexisting awards.

Fleet Review Board
Director: Hobbit Hill
This office will serve as the official promotions committee for IFT officers who are being considered for a promotion in rank to Captain and above.
The chairperson for the Review Board will be known as the Review Board Commandant. When a chapter commander submits a letter of recommendation for a crewmember to be promoted to the rank of Captain or above, the Review Board Commandant will be responsible for
sending the information to the committee and reviewing the eligibility of the recommended officer. This will involve a background check via the IFT database, information on awards and commendations the officer has received, participation in charity related
events, and dedication to the fleet and chapter. The officer must also understand the philosophy of IFT and abide by it.
Upon the review of the recommended officer by the committee, the Review Board Commandant will submit his/her recommendation to IFT Council for final approval. It will also be the responsibility of the Commandant to notify the requesting party of Council’s
decision.
The Commandant may select two members to sever with him/her on the Review Board Committee.
Since the IFT Council must approve all requests for promotions in rank from Captain and above, no report is need from this office. Promotions will be discussed at monthly Council meetings
This office will be responsible for publishing and offering the training courses that are available to the IFT membership.
The
Academy Director will be responsible for coordinating branch offices of the academy to ensure that every branch is offering the same
materials. No course may be specifically offered from one branch of the Federation Academy that is not being offered by all branch offices.
Only the Academy Superintendent may approve an award ribbon for members who past a course, or a multiple of courses. Therefore it is important for branch office commanders to transfer test scores immediately after they are received.
 Federation Cadets
Director: Sherwood Shaplin
This office will be responsible for the special features IFT will offer to its younger members
This office is under the command of
Commodore Brent Boehler. This office will serve as the IFT’s Directory Assistance, and assist new members and chapters by
providing them with information regarding which office could best answer their questions. Ships Services would then contact the appropriate office for these members and transfer their questions and requests for assistance.
It will also be the responsibility of this office to produce commissioning certificates for new chapters of the fleet.
Special Services
Director: Gerald Borlies
This office will be the official accessibility office of IFT. It is the duty of this office to assist physically and mentally challenged members so that they may get the most out of their IFT membership and
their love for Star Trek.
This office will be broken down into sub-divisions. While each division will have a commanding officer, they will serve under the direction of the Chief of Special Services. The sub-divisions will include, but
are not limited to, the following.
- Visually Impaired Team:
This division will offer the IFT By-Laws, Voyages, Official Membership Manual, and other IFT materials in Braille and on audiocassette. They will also assist visually impaired chapter
commanders in writing monthly reports.
- Hearing Impaired Team:
This division will assist chapters who have hearing-impaired members to locate interpreters who will provide sign language at chapter meetings, conventions, and other events.
- Physically Impaired Team:
This division will work with chapters who have members with physical disabilities: helping the chapter to better accommodate this individual so that they may get the most out of their
IFT experience. This will include finding a chapter meeting place with physically challenged access, assistance in finding an accommodating duty during convention security detail and other projects, and any other issues that may arise.
- Challenge Support Team:
This office will assist the mentally impaired members with a better understanding of the IFT philosophy and make it possible for them to get the most out of their IFT membership. This
team will also provide information to chapters so that they will better understand the needs of members who suffer from illnesses such as diabetes, cancer, aids, etc.
Each division’s commanding officer will file a report to the Chief of Special Services by the 10th of each month. The report will outline which chapters have requested assistance and how their
division was able to help them.
The Chief of Special Services will correlate a report from the sub-division reports and forward it to IFT Council by the 20th of each month.
The Special Services office will also serve as a charity resource center. Chapters who have questions about Fleet-wide charity efforts, or questions about nationally known charities may contact the Chief of
Special Services for additional information regarding these organizations or how to get in touch with them. Sub-divisions who specialize in a certain charity may also be added to this department.
