IFT International Conference 2006

GEO 5 will be hosting the 1st IFT International Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, in October 2006! We invite all IFT chapters to participate in the event, as well as all other Star Trek fans and Star Trek fan organizations. Currently, we are forming a committee that will be in charge of organizing the 2006 conference.

GEO 5 Purpose and Goals

The purpose of the GEO is to help those people who are unable to help themselves or who need temporary help in the face of a disaster. Based on the vision of Gene Roddenberry, the members of GEO 5 reach out and pitch in as soon as they find the need. When the call goes out, the members will put forth every effort to assist and meet it.

General Information

GEO is the acronym for Geographical Extension of Operations, and is exactly that, an extension of IFT operations to the far-reaching corners of the United States and worldwide. As IFT has grown over the years, it became necessary to divide the responsibility of keeping track of and corresponding with local chapters to independent bases of operation, both nationally and internationally, thus the GEO was born.

All GEOs report to IFT HQ, and currently, there are thirteen GEOs altogether, covering chapters from the United States to New Zealand, even Cyber Space for those members who do not live near a local chapter. For local chapters residing in GEO 5, your GEO 5 Staff members are your contacts for all complaints, concerns, requests for aid, information, etc. concerning IFT or your chapter. Please do not hesitate to contact any one of us at any time. We are here for you.

GEO Organization

There are three active states in GEO 5, meaning a state in which chapters reside: Arizona, California, and Nevada. You can visit our Ships page for a list of chapters. On the Merit Awards page you will find all the awards possible from IFT, GEO 5, Chapter Commanders and/or Chapter Members. I encourage all of you to look over this list and to reward those crewmembers who are deserving, even your commanding officers! :-)
