Most Recent News (11/16/04):
Due to a simple lack of interest the U.S.S. LaPorte will be decomissioned as of
January 1, 2005. All of the crew will be transfered to the U.S.S. Thyla and
this website will remain in tact as is incase of a future recommissioning. We
do apologize for any onconvenience this may cause.
Accessability:
Since we are a Cyber Chapter in IFT, we have made our chapter
accessible to those of you with Internet access. Provided to the left
is a link to ResortMUD, it is a Multi-User Domain which we on the
command staff calls our Internet home. Anyone can access it, provided
their machine uses an operating system with Telnet.
Mission:
The staff as a whole is a group of explorers who live around the
Internet. We seek the fun and challenge that we can find on
Multi-User Domains and less graphical games. We want all who are part
of the crew to be able to participate in the majority of the
activities.
As part of MudWorld (as well as IFT) the LaPorte administration is, for
the most part, the administration of MudWorld or its parent company
known as Haslage Net Electronics. As part of our service, we offer
all the information we provide to MudWorld to all those of in IFT.
We have occassionally explored the mysteries of Multi-User Domains,
Quake and SubSpace. If you want to download Quake, goto the PC Gaming
section.
History:
Anthony, Andrew and Josh have known each other since 1997. They started
together as administrators at the same MUD. Gradually as the years past
they met Elizabeth in 1998, when hiring her as part of the staff. Digifuzz
became an affiliate of Anthony's in 2000, and later that year joined
the staff. Sean was a patron as well as an off and on affiliate of
Anthony's until joining the staff in 2001. Christopher first joined IFT a
decade ago on the same day as Anthony.
The original LaPorte was destroyed by a core explosion caused by, what was
suspected to be, sabatoge. No real conclusion has been found, however it
did give the LaPorte a new start as more modern ship.
The LaPorte was officially reconized by IFT on March 2nd, 2001, it was
officially commishioned on July 29th, 2001 as the first 100% Cyber Chapter.
