Class Summary:
The Ambassador Class series was developed as a replacement for the aging Excelsior Class explorers. These vessels were the first designed with more spacious accomadations in mind such as crew quarters and conference rooms.

Webmaster's Notes:
The Star Trek Encyclopedia mentions that there was a U.S.S. Ambassador which bore the registration number NCC-10521, though this ship was never seen in any of the series.
