Welcome
Welcome to the first issue of this newsletter, ever. I hope you enjoy reading as much as I did writing it.

Captain's Note
Welcome all to the first edition of the Olympic's Newsletter. I hope everyone contributed to this for future generations to look back on and say, "Wow, for such a small crew they sure did have a nice, big newsletter!" For those of you who did not contribute: BAD CREW PEOPLE!!! BAD!!!
I think our first meeting went well. As many of you know, we are looking for a large surge in membership from the Columbus area, which has prompted us to have meetings twice a month. There will be one in Indiana and one in Ohio. I hope that this will help our organization to grow and deter any conflicts with people able to attend meetings because of the distance.
Our first mission will be starting soon. If any of you have any ideas about th plot, please contact a member of the command staff and we will see what we can come up with. Please remember that a good story line will allow us to get more and better reports for the newsletter, so get those creative bioneural gels flowing!

First Officer's Log
Greetings, everyone. I am real excited about where this ship has the capabillity to go and the drive that I have observed since the beginning of the ship's creation, way back when. I am proud to be the First Officer of a crew with so much talent and insight. I know we can make this club everything it needs to be.
First Officer
Commander Kenneth Cupp
Second Officer's Word

Counselor's Book
Greetings and welcome to the Counselor's Corner. My name is Counselor Isaac Kramer. I am wanting everyone to know that I have an open door policy at all times. If any of you need to talk or have a question, please feel free to come to me.
The first thing is to let all of you know that I am the Director of Volunteer Services. Currently, I am seeking more information about any charity or community service event that you are interested in perforn1ing. I do ask that you think of others when bringing different ideas to my attention.
I also want everyone to know that I will be giving random psychology test to anyone at anytime. This test will be evaluated by me and you will be informed with the results as to what it means. If in the case that I give everyone a test, then I will not report the answers until later by email. I am simply doing this so no one will feel depressed or upset their self due to their test results. These test are mainly for my purpose. There are no right or wrong answers either.
I would like everyone know of the report that I am giving this month. I am going to speak to you a little about customer service. The reason for this topic is because it deals with the behavior put forth from one person to another. The best place to talk about customer service is McDonald's.
As I'm sure that all of you see in their wonderfully expensive advertisements, McDonald's claims to be this people friendly business that goes out their way to welcome you. Well, I'm not sure as to which McDonald's they to film that one at, or even how much they paid the people to wear those fake smiles.
This one thing is sure though, it surely isn't any of the 5 McDonald's here in Springfield, or for that fact, any of them within a 50 mile radius of Springfield.
The last time I went to McDonald's I drove through the drive thru to hear, "McDonald's, what would you like?" Completely upset with this form of hospitality, I answered with my order. After placing my order, I drove forward to see a shocking surprise. The woman who had said that distasteful phrase was a manager. She then continued to tell me my total and have me pull forward as quickly as possible. As I pulled forward to next window, hoping to find some sense of clarity from what just happened, I am confronted with another woman who seems to have no tongue. The reason why I have to this conclusion is because despite my efforts to make friendly conversation, she doesn't speak. Not even a sound of "thank you," "hi," "bye," or "have a nice day" came from her mouth. Instead she throws my drinks and food at me and shuts the window behind her.
Now mind you, I would expect treatment close to this if I were to gone to McDonald's at a peak time, but I went at 2 pm on a Wednesday afternoon. There were no other customers around me.
Drawing to my lesson of this story, the next time you are placed in a situation where you are to deal with customers, try to have a more positive and friendly outlook. The main reason I say this is because even though I am one person, I have just told at least ten more.
Have a great day!
Lieutenant Isaac Kramer
News from the IFT
On Sunday March 11,2001, we voted in approval of becoming a chapter of the International Federation of Trekkers (IFT). After sending this message via email to the IFT President Russ Haslage, he responded by saying, "Fantastic! This is a wonderfully historic day." Although we are off to a rather slow start with the IFT, please realize that are getting to us as we are getting to know them. They ask you to wait a minimum of two weeks before you receive your membership packet. Even though it may not take that long, please understand that it does it does take a lot of time and effort to put these packets together.
Also, we have inquired as to why we have not been posted on the IFT's web site yet, and Russ has informed us that they are revamping the site to a new design. Once the new site is up, the Captain has been assured that we will be posted on the chapter listings page.
THIS JUST IN: The site is completed and we are on it!!!
Top 5 List
The top reasons you should have helped name the newsletter:
#5 The Captain only thought of five.
#4 We are too stubborn to change it now.
#3 Three heads got together to think of names and our bioneural gelpacks were empty.
#2 Because there are high-ranking people that hold your rank in the palm of their hands.
#1 Because they also steer the ship and there's a lot of unexplored space.
