Introduction - U.S.S. T'hy'la |
INTRODUCTION Greetings and welcome to the newly rebuilt USS T’HY’LA. Commissioned on June 1, 1984, we are the oldest Chapter in IFT. T’HY’LA is a Vulcan term meaning ‘more than friends’. And we are just that. We are family. We are the staging area where members are first assigned upon joining IFT. And we are where a few members return, when for one reason or another our Chapters are decommissioned. Finally, a few of us stay with the T’HY’LA just to keep her running smoothly and efficiently. We are the staging area, the mother ship and last but not least, we are the Flagship of IFT, the USS T’HY’LA’, NFC-8406. REAL-LIFE MISSION Our main mission is to promote the International Federation of Trekkers and Gene Roddenberry’s philosophy. So, we’re going on a fact-finding mission to promote our Chapter and its activities. Some of these missions will not only help our Chapter, but it will help other IFT Chapters as well. These projects will coincide with each area of the Staff responsibilities. FICTITIOUS MISSION As the Flagship of IFT, we lead the way in the Fleet. Our sphere of influence will be the home sol system of the Federation Council. During peacetime, we are an exploration vessel. During emergencies, we will be leading the rest of the Fleet with Admiral Haslage on board and in command of the entire Fleet. We are responsible for the interplanetary peace and security of the home sol system of IFT.
