X Minus One holds the record for the longest running SF radio series ever produced, airing on NBC for almost three years (1955-58) and spanning 113 episodes.

"A Pail of Air" is Fritz Leiber's spooky sentimental tale of a family of lone survivors. Imagine an Earth so dark and cold that the air itself is frozen slush! This episode originally broadcast March 28, 1956.
