Jet Propulsion Lab Open House, May 17, 2003

We meet up unexpectedly with the Klingons, and take a group shot under the banner. Overlooking the room where the Jet Propulsion Lab controls the satellites which orbit earth, and monitor the missions to Mars.
David, Juanita, and Michael gamely pose for a roaming photographer. Mandy and Juanita, taking a slight side trip into outer space.
Model of the Mars rover, launched in June 2003. The Mars lander, used to protect the Mars rover upon landing.

Left, a miniature rover, powered by solar panels, used to run over little kids and wayward feet.
In the machine room, a worker busily shapes a piece of metal on the floor below. The lovely view. Those are machines, and oh yes, more machines.
A very big machine manipulates a very tiny bit. The gang hangs tough.
The Gemeni satellite. The Ulysses satellite, orbitting the sun, collecting data for the last 8 years.
Howard, the would be cinematographer, after a hard day of filming exhibits and getting butts shots of the people in front of him. Michael cracks up. After a hard day in outer space, Juanita and David are ready to head home.
