Top, the solar sails span the width of the main auditorium at the Pasadena Convention Center.

Left, a depiction of the solar sails that will be used one day to power a mission to Mars!

A life-size Lego model of the rover that will be landing on Mars tonight! A display of the deployment of the rover when it safely lands on the Mars surface.
A broader view, JPL is clear on the rover's shuttle. Jim and LoRee grab some seats for the broadcasting of the live rover landing from JPL HQ.
Nathan and I take off to explore more of the exhibits. I'm obsessed with those solar sails!
Wow, a really good model of the Millenium Falcon. A miniature of the rover is also available for sale!
And I love the model of the lunar lander. Nathan and those gorgeous solar sails.
Back in our seats for the broadcast. It was thrilling to watch the landing of Spirit live from JPL headquarters.

When the JPL engineers heard the last signal that Spirit had safely landed and opened it's lander, they erupted into applause and shouts of relief. It was great to watch!
