Our security officer, Michael Rose, has been stationed with the 1st Calvary in Baghdad! Of course, Juanita is worried sick about her son. With the news reporting car bombs and other terrorist acts happening in and out of the "Green Zone," we all understand Juanita's concerns. It is definitely a mom's job to worry! To date, more than 5,000 of our troops have been wounded and several hundred killed. Michael reassures all of us that there is no need to worry. Well, we'll keep hoping he comes home soon!

Pamela Gengo, our former XO and Ship's Counselor, has decided to continue aboard the USS Ulysses! She will no longer be our Ship's Counselor, but a 'member at large' aboard the ship she helped to found. We're happy that she has decided to stay with us. :-) She is extremely busy with her two jobs and very active with her church, which are the reasons why she has become an inactive member of the Ulysses. We wish her luck and lots of fun in her endeavors!

Judy Higgins, our member in Cat city, is very active with her church as well and recently attended our July 4th Barbecue with her brother, who was a big help at the BBQ! Judy has been attending our meetings without fail, and we appreciate her humor and good sense! :-)

As for myself, I am working full time, thus can't spend as much time as I'd like with my projects aboard the Ulysses. As GEO 5 XO, I am also busy with my duties there. Recently, I have started a website for the USS Cascade, our friends in Texas. :-)

However, I have been actively looking for a college which has the degree in which I am interested, Multimedia/Web Creation and Design. Surprisingly, UCIrvine has no such speciality available! With Jebbie's help, I will be narrowing down my choices for my continued education, hopefully before September! :-)
