The following officers have given their permission to display short biographies online. Some officers may have declined to do so. We are all quirky individuals who make up the heart and soul of the ship. Enjoy!

Welcome aboard the Ulysses, I am the commanding officer. I hope that your visit will be enjoyable as well as informative. This ship was created by two friends and I, to give us a place to meet and enjoy Star Trek together. I have been a fan of the show since the very first airing of the original series in 1966. Like many, I dreamed of exploring the stars with Captain James Kirk.

I am now a Commodore and a member of the IFT council. I have been appointed Commissions Advisor by the council members and I monitor the members at the rank of Captain and above to determine if they are eligible for promotions or unfortunately, sometimes, demotions.

I have my Bachelors Degree of Science with a specialty in Web Base Management. I graduated in November 2002 and my last day of class was June 23, 2003, had to finish those pesky general education classes. First Contact is my favorite movie in the Trek series and my favorite weekly show will always be The Next Generation. In my opinion, the best command team is Picard and Riker.

Hope that you enjoy the different pages on this site and the mission logs that we enjoy writing.

Our CO is also the author of the Ulysses Mission Logs. The Ulysses Mission Logs are unfolding tales of the adventures of the crew of the USS Ulysses!

Greetings from the Executive Officer of the Ulysses, and current webmaster o' this here website. I joined the Ulysses (and the IFT) in mid-2005 after years of devout personal interest in Original Series Trek, but with only casual acquaintance with Trek fandom. My interest in getting involved was revved up after I discovered the fan film labors of love Star Trek: New Voyages, and Starship Exeter. These productions made me realize that love of 60's Trek was not a thing of the past, that fans everywhere were still as passionate about it as ever, and that life and untapped potential remained in the wonderful Trek universe.

My active interests besides Trek are vintage comics and comic art. I have had several published art jobs (as an inker) for Big Bang Comics and I'm currently inker and colorist for a project to reconstruct an unpublished and long-lost Superman story from 1941 that changed the history of the character (and the fate of his creators) forever. I also operate LAB-RAT Graphics, an inking and coloring graphics service for comic fans.

And yes, I have a very busy real-life career overseeing three locations of contact center operations for a major metropolitan loan servicing company!

IFT is a terrific environment of creative and intelligent folks with a passion for the imagination. If you're just "checking it out", you won't find a more welcoming group anywhere. Even if they do like TNG's Captain Professor X and his Enterprise-E more than swingin' Jim Kirk and the mighty NCC-1701!

Hi, everybody! I'm the Ship's Counselor of the ULYSSES and my chief responsibility is to counsel members of the crew. In civilian life, I'm a clinical therapist at a county Department of Mental Health.

I have been a Star Trek fan since "The Original Series" went on the air in the mid-1960's. My Trek favorites will always be Kirk, Spock and McCoy. I also love "The Next Generation" and all the movies. Gene Roddenberry gave us a vision of a better world and its up to us to make it happen. Live long and prosper!

Michael Rose is a former member of the USS Odyssey, a Star Trek fan club independent of IFT, as a security ensign shortly before leaving to pursue his dream of joining the Army. After a long haul through basic training, he made it to his permanent duty station. Unfortunately, as a result of stress brought on by severe personal matters and political trouble at a bad post, he was granted an honorable discharge after just over a year in service.

After two years of rough and, at times, dangerous living and moving from place to place, circumstances (involving a girl, as usual with him) landed him back in California, where he joined his mother's ship, the USS Ulysses, as a security operative again. He has sought to excel at what he does for the ship, including artwork and assisting at events whenever possible.

He has rejoined the army and currently, he is stationed in Baghdad, Iraq and his mother worries about him constantly.

He has married a wonderful woman, Jennifer, and though they are apart, they are both very happy. Jennifer is also in the Army and stationed at Ft. Bragg, where Michael hopes to return to after his tour of duty in Iraq. Hopefully this will happen in March, but it has been moved back three times already, so we are hoping.

His interests include firearms, muscle cars, off-roading, drawing and writing stories. His favorite Star Trek series is Star Trek: The Next Generation, and his favorite Star Trek movie of all time is "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn".

Lt. JG Michael Rose is also the author of the 4th Ulysses Mission Logs: Pack Behaviors and will occasionally submit a Security Log.

Mandy is now the Captain of the USS Athena NFC-0750.

I guess it’s my turn at this. Hello and welcome to the Ulysses website! I am its creator and have been the webmaster since the ship was chartered in June 2000. Juanita, Pam, and I started the Ulysses with a lot of hope and enthusiasm and are proud of what we have created so far. As my CO is fond of saying, “We are small, but we are mighty.”

I began as a Lt. Commander and Chief of Ops and I am now a Captain and both Executive Officer and Chief of Operations. I have been promoted throughout the years for my dedication to the ship, and was promoted by Russ Haslage, IFT’s President, to Captain at the 2003 GEO 5 Conference for my work in organizing it. I am also GEO 5 Chief of Communications and I am always happy to hear from any of you. Finally, I am also IFT’s Ringmaster.

Star Trek was something I grew up with as my father loved The Original Series. I came to love Kirk, Spock, and McCoy by the time I was a little kid. For the premiere of Star Trek: The Next Generation, I remember thinking that it had better be good or I would be hugely disappointed. It wasn't a disappointment and I loved that series as well. Years later, during my stay in Australia, I discovered that the local video store had all 7 seasons of Star Trek: DS9 on tape, which is a common thing “Down Under.” I now consider it one of the best Star Trek shows ever. Of all the Star Trek movies, my favorites are "The Wrath of Khan," "The Search for Spock," and "First Contact."

Currently, I am a student at the University of California, Irvine, and have completed my Bachelors in English, while working on my second major in ICS (Information and Computer Sciences). I love to read, write, travel, take pictures, and play with computers. I especially love to create websites! Of the countries I have been to, Australia is at the top of my list of places I would like to revisit.

One of my hobbies is diving and snorkeling, and I have done both in some of the most beautiful regions in the world, including the Great Barrier Reef and along the coast of eastern Australia, Palancar and Chankanaab and Columbia Shallows of Cozumel, Mexico, the underground caves and cenotes of the Yucatan Peninsula, the Big Island reefs of Hawaii, the very cold waters of New Zealand, and the reefs and sea caves of Fiji. Yes, those caves were challenging, especially as I’m claustrophobic!

In any case, I hope you enjoy the Ulysses Newsletter, of which I am also the editor and creator. It has a completely new look now, so please visit the logs below to check it out! Thanks again for visiting.

Mandy is also the author of the Operations Log, the Personnel Log, and the Australia Mission Log in the Ulysses Newsletter.

Lt. Commander David Perez

Hello, I’m David Perez, Chief Engineer of the USS Ulysses, born and bred in sunny Southern California. I currently sell shaved ice at Pow Wows, car shows, etc.

My favorite show that will always be closest to my heart is the original Star Trek series. But I did enjoy The Next Generation, the latter years of DS9, and, currently, the last season of Voyager. As for the movies, Kirk, Spock, and Bones will always be my heroes. I hope you can visit us again. Closing all hailing frequencies….

He is the designer of the ship’s logo, which we all love.

David Perez passed away November 23, 2003. Join us in remembering our fallen crewmember by visiting our memorial to him. Thank you.

I am happy to part of this ship and I am very impressed with what this small group has accomplished so far. Awesome logo, great website, some life signs aboard, and good people (from what I read on the website).

As for myself, I have great respect for the integrity and the contribution of Captain Jean-Luc Picard and the crew of the USS Enterprise to our universe, and how they change the people/beings and places they come across, and leave the people/beings and the places they visit a little better.

I aspire to do that in my daily life. (On a very small scale).
